Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) fill an important role in modern healthcare practices. Their primary job duty is to provide routine care, observe patients health, assist doctors and registered nurses, and communicate instructions to patients regarding medication, home-based care, and preventative lifestyle changes.
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Providing quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians
Maintaining patient charts and medical records with thorough and proper documentation
Reporting changes in patients conditions.
Administering medications prescribed by a physician.
Collecting blood, urine and other samples for laboratory tests.
Helping patients dress, eat, and bathe.
Assembling and using equipment such as tracheotomy tubes, catheters, and oxygen suppliers.
Must possess valid current license under the State Board of Nursing.
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Must be 18 years of age or greater.
