The LTE RAN - maintenance engineer is responsible for providing subject matter expertise on various Ericsson RAN network elements.
They lead FOAs (First Office Applications) of new platforms and software as well as providing the necessary documentation to introduce into the network to keep up with the latest technologies while maintaining the quality of the network.
They lead multiple projects and are included in various other planning, PDI, and NI driven projects.
The LTE RAN maintenance engineer will require minimal direction and supervision.
The candidate will have the ability and authority (based on experience and skillset) to make decisions within their designated platforms.
New Product Introduction:
Work with HQ Planning, PDI and/or NI to understand requirements of new platforms or software to be deployed in the network
Work with vendor to establish integration procedures, test plans, completion documents, and backout procedures for each new platform, software or service
Work with regional operations, engineering, system performance to schedule activity
Lead FOA (First Office Application) activities to ensure successful deployment
Establish standards documents for new platforms and software
Publish directives with all appropriate documentation and comply by date.
Ensure that new products comply with all EOS (Engineering Operations and Support) standards and regulations
Work with vendors and other internal organizations to identify any customer impacting issues and/or security vulnerabilities.
Post advisories notifying operational and engineering teams of potential network issues.
Provide tier 3 support for network issues across the nation and lead outage calls to ensure timely resolution
Develop troubleshooting and best practices procedures for all Ericsson LTE RAN equipment
Manage the relationship with Ericsson to ensure a reliable network, timely delivery of new products and services and efficient rollout.
Work with the vendors on issues and security vulnerabilities to ensure that resolution is provided quickly
Develop and review procedures, standards, and guidelines for operational and engineering teams to follow for new products and/or services as well as maintenance
Identify gaps or issues in existing system deployments and provide guidance for resolution
Responsible for running nationwide configuration audits, identify severity and oversee resolution
